Zebra & Eltron Printer Issues

Black Bar Prints on the Label

Black bars printed on the label are typically caused by a corrupt or out-of-date print driver. Reinstalling the print driver corrects this issue in most cases.

Upside Down Labels

Upside-down labels are usually due to the label orientation being set incorrectly in the printer's preferences. The orientation preference setting may be different depending on the model of printer you are using. Here is an example of changing the orientation in Windows for a Zebra ZP 450 thermal printer.

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel.

  2. Go to Devices and Printers.

  3. Right-click on your printer and select Printing Preferences.

  4. Look for the orientation settings and select the correct option to rotate the label by 180 degrees.

Light or Faint Printing

Light or faint printing is typically caused by a graphics setting in the printer's preferences. The graphics preference settings may be different depending on the model of printer you are using. Here is an example of changing the graphics settings in Windows for a Zebra ZP 450 thermal printer.

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel.

  2. Go to Devices and Printers.

  3. Right-click on your printer and select Printing Preferences.

  4. Look for the darkness setting. It may be on the Graphics tab or available as an option.

  5. Increase the darkness. You may need to test a few labels until the setting is correct and the labels print dark enough.
