You may find that you are unable to print postage from Microsoft Word or Outlook after installing the Stamps.com plug-ins. Typically, this occurs when the plug-in has been disabled in Word or Outlook.
Follow the steps in the correct section of this article to ensure that the plug-in is enabled.

Open Microsoft Word.

Click Options.
The Word Options window will open.

Select Add-ins.
-
Select COM Add-ins from the Manage drop-down menu. Then, click the Go button.
The COM Add-ins window will open.

Check the box for the Stamps.com Word 2000-2019 Add-in. Then, click OK.
The COM Add-ins window will close and the Stamps.com plug-in will be enabled. You can now print postage from Microsoft Word.

Open Microsoft Word.

Open Word Options:

Word 2010: Click on the File menu and select Options.

Word 2007: Click on the Office button. Then, select Word Options.

Select Add-ins from the list of options in the sidebar.

Open the Manage menu and select COM Add-ins. Then, click the Go button.

Check the box for the Stamps.com Word 2000-2019 Add-in. Then, click OK.

Repeat steps 1 and 2 to open the Add-ins window.

Click the Manage menu and select Disabled Items.

Check to see if the Stamps.com Word 2000-2019 Add-in is listed. If it is, select it and click Enable. If it is not, continue with step 9.

Exit and reopen Microsoft Word.
The Stamps.com plug-in is enabled. You can now print postage from Microsoft Word.

Open Microsoft Word.

Click the Help menu and select About Microsoft Office Word.

Click the Disabled Items button.

Is the Stamps.com Word 2000-2019 Add-in listed?
-
YES: Select it and click Enable. Then, close and reopen Microsoft Word.
The Stamps.com plug-in is enabled. You can now print postage from Microsoft Word.

NO: Continue with step 5.

Exit the About Microsoft Office Word window.

Click the Tools menu and select Customize.

Select the Commands tab. Then, select Tools from the list of categories.

Locate the COM Add-ins option in the list of available commands. Then, select it and drag it onto Tools. Click Close.

Click the Tools menu and select COM Add-ins.
-
Check the box for the Stamps.com Word 2000-2019 Add-in plug-in and click OK.
The Stamps.com plug-in is enabled. You can now print postage from Microsoft Word.
While the latest versions of Microsoft Word allows you to enter the return address while printing postage, older versions (Word 2000 - 2010) require you to update the return address in the Stamps.com software by printing a sample envelope. Here's how:

Exit Microsoft Word.

Open the Stamps.com PC software and log in.

Select Envelopes.
-
Enter the new return address and a valid delivery address. Then, configure the postage details.

Click the Print Sample button and print the sample envelope.

Open Microsoft Word.
The new return address will now be updated in Microsoft Word.

Open Microsoft Outlook.
-
Click Options.
The Outlook Options window will open.

Select Add-ins.
-
Select COM Add-ins from the Manage drop-down menu. Then, click the Go button.
The COM Add-ins window will open.

Check the box for the Stamps.com Add-in. Then, click OK.
The COM Add-ins window will close and the Stamps.com plug-in will be enabled. You can now print postage from Microsoft Outlook.

Open Microsoft Outlook.

Click on the File menu and select Options.

Select Add-ins.
-
Select COM Add-ins from the Manage drop-down menu. Then, click the Go button.
The COM Add-ins window will open.

Check the box for the Stamps.com Add-in. Then, click OK.

Click on the Tools menu and select Trust Center.

Select Add-ins.
-

The COM Add-ins window will open.
