Create & Print Envelopes with Stamps.com Mobile

You can use the Stamps mobile app to print USPS postage for First-Class Mail on an envelope as well as the delivery and return address if needed. The mobile app supports the same envelope types as our web app.

Requires WiFi Enabled Printers

To print from your smartphone (either Android devices or iPhones/iPads), you must have a WiFi-enabled printer that is connected to the same network as your mobile device. If you have never printed from your mobile device before, we've included a test print option within the app so you can ensure your devices are working together properly before you purchase postage.

Create Envelopes

To create an envelope in the Stamps Mobile app:

  1. Tap Envelope.

Stamps mobile. Drawer of Create options: NetStamps, Shipping Label, Envelope

This will open the Create Envelope page.

  2. Add the From and To address details on the Create Envelope page.

When adding the To address, you'll see the auto-fill option from your Contacts list once you type at least three letters. If your recipient is in your Contacts list, select the contact from the available options. The mobile app will auto-fill the contact's address for you.

  3. Select the Envelope Type.

Stamps mobile: Envelope Type menu. Envelope #10 selected
  4. Tap Confirm Weight if the weight is 1 oz. or less (the app will default the envelope weight to 0 lbs. 1 oz.).

Stamps Mobile: Create envelope page, confirm weight button. Also shows weight adjustment buttons

Optional: Tap Weight and update the weight first if it is more than 1 oz.

  5. Tap Include to set the elements you wish to include on the envelope and Save your changes, if any.

Stamps mobile: Include on Envelope preview. Postage, Delivery and Return Addresses enabled to display

You can choose to print any one of these elements, as well as all three (printing all three is the default setting):

    • Postage: Prints the postage on the envelope

    • Delivery Address: Prints the recipient's address on the envelope

    • Return Address: Prints the return address on the envelope.

  6. Tap Continue.

You cannot change the carrier or service, as USPS First-Class Mail is the only option available when printing envelopes.

You are now ready to print your envelope! You can print directly to a WiFi-enabled printer or download to print later.

Print or Download Envelopes

To Print, your mobile device must be connected to the same WiFi network as the printer. If this is your first time printing an envelope from your mobile device, we recommend that you perform a test print first. If you opt to Download, the file will download to your mobile device. You can then share it via email or other methods to print from another device.

  1. Choose whether you will Print or Download the envelope.

  2. Change the Mail Date if you are not mailing on the same day.
