In the unlikely event that your package is damaged, destroyed, or lost in transit, and you purchased package insurance for your shipments, you can quickly file a claim with ParcelGuard.
-
All claims must be filed within 120 days of the shipping date.
-
In the case of lost packages, you must wait 30 days before filing a claim.
-
Please retain all damaged items until final settlement, as you may be asked to surrender any items claimed as damaged beyond repair. Failure to do so could adversely affect your claim.
To file a ParcelGuard claim:
-
The package recipient should hold damaged items in the event they are requested during claims processing. FAILURE TO RETAIN DAMAGED PROPERTY COULD AFFECT FINAL SETTLEMENT OF THE CLAIM.
-
Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express include $100 of USPS loss/damage coverage ($200 for Priority Mail Express International). You may purchase ParcelGuard coverage in addition to or instead of this coverage, but the total amount claimed for a package cannot exceed the total value of the package.
Fraud Will Be Prosecuted
Any fraudulent claims will make the shipper and/or package recipient liable for prosecution for mail fraud under the Federal Criminal Code.
