Stamps.com has integrations to many online marketplaces and sales channels. However, in some cases, it may be necessary to import orders from a source other than a connected store. For example, you may sell on a store that Stamps.com does not integrate with, but you can export your order information from your store into a CSV or TXT file.
The good news is that with Stamps.com you can easily import order information from a file. You then have all the tools available to you to ship your orders.
In this article, we will take a look at how to create a properly formatted CSV file containing your orders and how to import the file from your computer into Stamps.com Online.

You can import your orders from the following file types:

CSV (Comma Separated Value) file

TXT (Text) file
These steps guide you through using our sample CSV file to create an import file containing your order information. This is the recommended method since it ensures that the import file is properly formatted to import into Stamps.com.

Select the ORDERS tab.

Click the Import button.
The Import Orders screen will open.

Click the Download sample file link to download a sample CSV file to your computer.
In the next steps, you will enter your order information into the downloaded sample file so that you can be sure the file is formatted correctly.

Locate and open the downloaded CSV file. The file is named sample.csv.
About the Sample CSV File
The sample.csv file contains sample information to help ensure you enter your order information into the file correctly:

Row 1 contains the column headers. Please do not rename or rearrange these headers. The headings are properly formatted so that the file can be imported successfully.

Rows 2 and 3 contain example order data. Please be sure to delete the details from these rows.

Row 5 contains notes about how to format your order data. Please be sure to delete this row.
File requirements:

The Order ID (required) field is the only required field. Each Order ID should be unique. No two orders can share the same Order ID.

When an order in the import file has the same Order ID as an order already in Stamps.com, the import file order information will update the order in Stamps.com.

Fractional values must be entered as a decimal. For example, enter .75 not 3/4. This applies to weights and dimensions.

Enter your order information into the file. Be sure that each order's information is entered into the correct column within the file.

Once all of your order information has been entered, save the file to an easy-to-remember location on your computer. You can rename the file to a name that works best for your workflow.
Now that you have added your orders to the import file and saved the file to your computer, you can import your orders.
To import the file:

Select the ORDERS tab.

Click the Import button.
The Import Orders screen will open.

Click the Select CSV File button.

Select your CSV file and click Choose (Mac) or Open (PC).

Click the Import button.
The orders will be imported in to Stamps.com and a summary of the orders that were imported will be displayed.

Click the OK button to return to the ORDERS tab.
